Trauma Trainer

Timed decision drills for improvised emergency care. The premise: you are the person who is there — no trauma kit, no equipment, and emergency services minutes to an hour away. What you rehearse is deciding under that clock.

This is a training simulator, not medical guidance — not a first-aid course and not a substitute for one. Its vitals and timings are illustrative. Do not use it to treat a real injury.

What it is

9 playable scenarios, each a timed decision sequence run against a live physiology model: a simulated bleed that keeps running while you decide. Spoken coaching lines (81 recorded cues) narrate the run, and a debrief scores it and traces every choice you made. It runs in the browser and installs as an offline-capable app.

How a run plays

The brief. A dispatch-style picture of the scene, with the EMS arrival time stated up front.
Decisions on the clock. From the first step, the simulated bleed runs — and keeps running until you act to control it. Hesitation has a simulated cost you can watch.
Myth gates. An option built on a common first-aid myth doesn't just get marked wrong. The run pauses and you must pick why it fails before you can continue — in the trainer's own words, "lock in the reasoning; that's what holds under stress."
The hold. Getting the bleeding controlled is not the end. While the crew closes in — live countdown, proximity map — you reassess: is it still working, are they deteriorating, does anything need redoing. The dead time between checks is compressed in labelled jumps; the checks themselves run in real time, and a missed one is itself a decision.
Handover. The run ends when EMS arrives, and you are scored on the state your patient is in at that moment. In one scenario, deliberately, the drill ends before anyone arrives — "help is not coming soon, and whatever you do has to hold without it."
The debrief. Score against your best, the one thing to fix next run, your full choice list, and a downloadable run log.

What the training gives you

These are benefits of the training — rehearsal, pressure and feedback — not claims about real-world outcomes. Nothing here has been validated.

Decision pressure. The clock does not wait for you to finish reading. You rehearse choosing while the cost of not choosing is visible.
Consequence feedback. Wrong turns cost measured, simulated blood and time, and each one shows up itemised in the debrief — not a red X, a bill.
Reasoning, not recall. The myth gates drill why the tempting option fails, not just which button was right.
The wait is drilled, not skipped. Keeping an intervention working until handover is scored the same way getting it on was.
Repetition that tracks. Per-scenario best score, mastery level, clean-run streak, and a due-for-review nudge — all stored only in your browser. No account, no sign-up.

Massive limb hemorrhage
